Specific case studies may examine patriarchy and power, Indigenous and colonial societies, gender and revolutions, the impact of industrialisation on masculinity and femininity, intersections between race and gender, struggles for women’s liberation, shifting understandings of sexuality, and the rise of global women’s movements. Students will draw together comparative gender critiques from the specific case studies studied.
