HIST326 A History of Western Childhood

Incompatible:
ENGL212 Historical Aspects of Children’s Literature
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for 12 weeks or equivalent of campus lectures and tutorials supported by online activities.

This unit will study the changing Western constructions of childhood from the eighteenth to the twenty-first centuries. It will introduce students to the latest works in this growing field of historical research and by drawing on a range of visual and literary works will encourage them to develop their skills in analysing creative primary source materials.
