EXSC639 Applied Anatomy for Clinical Exercise Physiologists

Prerequisite EXSC112 Functional Anatomy or equivalent
Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.

The aim of this unit is to provide students with an advanced understanding of the applications of anatomy to clinical assessment, investigation, and decision making. The unit will further develop skills in surface anatomy, structural anatomy, functional anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, and radiographic anatomy, relevant to physical examination, exercise testing (i.e. manual muscle testing, dynamometer and joint stability), clinical imaging studies, and other clinical investigations. Furthermore, the unit will increase students’ awareness of the advances in research in the fields of clinical anatomy and exercise science. Students will use a case-based approach to become proficient in applying anatomical knowledge to clinical situations.
