EDFD625 Psychology and Education: Teaching and Learning Issues (Pakistan)

This unit explores current theoretical perspectives from cognitive, social and developmental psychology and their relevance to understanding the teaching and learning process. It offers to replace the common sense notions of learning and teaching with a systematic approach. Topics such as academic achievement and self-concept, personality, intelligence and problem solving, exceptional development and special needs for children and adolescents that require addressing, learning disabilities and mixed abilities classroom management, issues of diversity will help support the goals of teaching. The wellbeing of staff and students underlying ordinary anxiety issues and the related stress management will be explored.
