COUN523 Supervised Practicum

The Supervised Practicum provides a the opportunity for students to apply the theory and skills of counselling within the drug and alcohol field. The Institute will assist students in identifying their preferred placement and facilitate the relationship between the placement organisation, the supervisor and the student. The duration of the Practicum is 40 hours including at least 20 client contact hours and a minimum of 10 hours of supervision. The placement is organised and approved by the Institute’s Practicum Supervisor. The Practicum consolidates the identity of the trainee counsellor in their role, and assists in the integration of their learning throughout the course.
