Incompatible BUSN203 Business Ethics
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.

Ethics, as a branch of philosophy, can be described as a systematic reflection on the morality of human judgement, character and action. Its inclusion in the course as a separate unit emphasises the importance of a considered ethical view of professional business practice and of its social impact. This unit serves as an ethical foundation in which to frame study of the various business disciplines. It encompasses a general introduction to ethics and considers important implications of ethical principles for the modern world of global capitalism. Within this framework, it addresses some of the more specific issues usually considered under the heading of business ethics such as intellectual property, privacy, whistle-blowing, dirty hands, equal opportunity, advertising, and global and environmental issues.
