THSR203 Interfaith Relations and Dialogue

Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.

This unit explores the importance and role of dialogue among world religions with particular focus on people of Abrahamic (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) traditions as well as Australian indigenous peoples. It studies the current movement towards a global world in which emerging geo-political realities challenge religious and spiritual traditions to work together for peace and reconciliation. Strategies for dialogue, especially of an interfaith nature, are examined. Ethical and theological issues are raised.
