Teaching Organisation 3 contact hours per week over twelve weeks or equivalent of a range of interactive teaching strategies will be used in this on-campus class. There will be formal lectures, group work and discussions of set readings and assessment items.

There has been a revolution in our society in relation to the understanding of family, and it is crucial for the church to grapple with the challenges that this presents to those wanting to be involved in ministry. The church will need to develop new strategies for reaching families both within the church and within the wider community. This unit aims to explore the principles and practices which inform ministry with families. It critically examines changing family structures with a view to articulating appropriate models of ministry. It also fosters the development of basic competencies required for providing pastoral care within the family context.
