Central to the Reformed heritage is the understanding that humanitys chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him (sic) forever. Christian worship is at the heart of the Christian life because it acknowledges God Father, Son and Holy Spirit as the source of life and the hope of creation. Through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Spirit, the worshipping community together names the One to whom they belong as the people of God. As such, worship is of the essence of the Church. This unit introduces students to the nature and purpose of Christian worship and preaching from a reformed and evangelical perspective. This will include the study of some biblical, theological and historical foundations and contemporary approaches.
