Prerequisites

Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.

This unit develops the skills required to design, manage and evaluate teaching programs, continuing education programs, clinical workshops and in-service education programs. Students will establish a familiarity with the components and processes of designing materials and instruction that is learner-centred, using an Inquiry-based approach, which involves a higher level of learning, autonomy and participation. Students will examine current curriculum models, and explore the theoretical and philosophical perspectives that underpin the design, management and evaluation of curriculum. The unit will also highlight issues and strategies, which are relevant to curriculum development, in particular, meta-learning, self-directed lifelong learning, developing generic transferable skills and developing deep approaches to learning.
