Project management has become increasingly important for success in todays business environment. More and more businesses are turning towards project organisation to manage production and delivery of products and services. Project management is utilised by small and large companies in a variety of industries, for both internal deliverables as well as external or customer deliverables. Projects may be as large as the construction of a Petrochemicals plant, or as small as the installation/repair of a domestic water heating system. It is therefore useful for students of business and information systems to be familiar with the applications, benefits and techniques of project.
