Leadership within the context of Christian leadership must be viewed as a collaboration activity. Leaders at several levels within their organisational context normally exercise responsibility for staff development, achievement of role objectives and motivation towards excellence. Effective leadership requires a discerning mixture of skills, perspectives and approaches. To be successful, leaders require an understanding of the dynamics of human behaviour, including new ways of thinking about ones own feelings, thoughts and actions as well as those of other people. This is done by addressing some of the major issues confronting people today, including the notions of stability versus change, rationality versus irrationality and the nature-nurture question.
