HUMA233 Diversional Therapy Practice 1

Teaching Organisation Each semester is twelve weeks in length and is taught by distance education.

This unit is designed to provide students with an understanding of the value and importance of leisure and recreational activities for the older person. Leisure and recreation programs can play an integral role in assisting the older person retain and maintain feelings of identity and self worth. It is essential that older people have the opportunity to pursue areas of interest both past and present.
This unit will provide students with knowledge and skills to plan, develop and implement diversional therapy programs through assessment, evaluation and activity analysis for the older person in the community and in residential settings.
