HUMA231 Socio-Legal Issues in Disability

10 cp
Prerequisites Nil
Teaching Organisation Each semester is twelve weeks in length and is taught by distance education.

Since the mid 1970s, the focus for people with a disability in the western world has been on participation within the wider community. Within the context of an individuals citizenship, many issues have been confronted and many positive developments and reforms have occurred although barriers still exist to equality and inclusion.
In this unit students will examine the current social and legal issues relevant to the lives of people with a disability, and apply this information to their own approach in providing support in the workplace.
