Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week, usually 2 lectures and 1 tutorial, for twelve weeks or equivalent.

This is a general survey of Australian history from around the 1880s to the present. It includes study of the challenges of the 1890s, federation, White Australia and the Australian Settlement, the World Wars, depressions, political developments, social change and changing national identity, immigration and race issues, changes in international relations as well as cultural, religious and educational developments.
