Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.

This unit introduces the underlying mechanisms of the neural system of voluntary coordinated movement as it translates into clinical practice. It explains the neuromotor basis for motor control and the current theoretical explanations of motor control and motor learning. Practice settings, conditions and schedules are critically analysed for their effect on motor learning acquisition and retention of motor skills during rehabilitation after neurological incidents. Students compare a neurofacilitation approach and a task-oriented approach to clinical practice based upon established scientific procedures.
