EXSC390 Leadership Practices and the Outdoor Experience

Prerequisites EXSC201 Foundations of the Outdoor Experience, EXSC202 Journeying in the Natural World and EXSC312 River Journeys and Connections to Place
Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.

This unit will enable students to build upon their developing leadership skills. Students will examine a variety of tools integral to sound leadership practices. Students will develop self-evaluation techniques in relation to their personal leadership styles. An exploration of facilitation techniques, evaluation techniques, debriefing processors and their use in achieving outcomes in outdoor programming will be undertaken. They will have the opportunity to implement these skills as leaders on a journey. The unit will also explore Indigenous Australian traditional practice and the use of journeys.
