This unit aims to provide students with an understanding of health and exercise psychology within a framework that examines the relationship between exercise, psychological wellbeing, and health within the context of the broader community. The learning paradigm (student-centred learning) will promote the transformative experience emphasising student growth and development through the practice of appropriate citizenship skills. This unit will also explore theory and research related to the psychological aspects of health and exercise behaviour, challenging students to assume the habit of the critical mindcritical thinking, open-minded reflection on the links between exercise behaviour, physical and mental health, and quality of life. Students will review research and intervention models in health and exercise psychology and be able to integrate this knowledge into their given discipline.
