ENGL102 Australian Literature: An Introduction

Teaching Organisation A range of teaching procedures including lectures, tutorials and screenings will be used.

This unit is an examination of Australias national literature in its historical and cultural context. It provides a broad coverage of Australian literature from the early nineteenth century to the present, examining poetry, prose, and plays by Australians and about Australia. The unit focuses on issues such as landscape, Aboriginality, mateship, the position of women, and multiculturalism.
