Incompatible EDPH103 Personal Development, Health and Physical Education 1
This unit, through a combination of practical and theoretical experiences, will provide an introduction to the concepts of personal development and well being. The focus on the role and relevance of health, safety and nutrition and physical education in the early childhood and primary school setting, through a variety of healthy and enjoyable lifestyle activities, will also serve to reinforce the benefits of lifelong participation in such activities. Particular emphasis will be placed on the practical components of fundamental motor skills and aquatics across a developmental continuum for children aged 0-12. Preservice early childhood and primary educators will gain an understanding of the effective development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive Physical Education and Health program incorporating well-being of children.
