BUSO600 Ethical Leadership

Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.

Ethical leadership is very important for the health and well-being of not only those involved in an organisation, but also for the organisation itself. This unit reflects on the nature of ethical leadership and what this means for the management processes and work practices of institutions. Consideration will be given to the qualities, moral character and personal values which an ethical leader should have and how these foster cooperation, trust and loyalty within an organisation. The role of leadership and its responsibilities in the creation of an ethical corporate culture will be explored. Different ethical perspectives guiding ethical decision-making in the face of the ethical dilemmas and conflicts facing leaders will also be examined.
