If you experience undue financial hardship while studying at ACU, and this might prevent you from continuing your course, you may be eligible to apply for financial support through the Student Loans Scheme.
The Student Loans Scheme allows you to apply for a loan of up to $500 maximum to be repaid before your advised repayment deadline. You will not be charged interest on the loan. A loan will not be provided to cover HECS debts. As funds are limited, the scheme is reviewed annually and is subject to availability. You will be assessed on a needs basis. Particular attention will be paid to the requirements of students from country or isolated areas, and students from disadvantaged groups such as low-income groups.
Criteria for eligibility
You must be enrolled in an award undergraduate course or a 4th year program (Honours/Graduate Certificate/Graduate Diploma). Non-award, Masters or Doctoral students are not eligible.
You are not eligible for a loan during your first semester of attendance at ACU.
You must have paid in full any outstanding debt to the University and all applicable Student Service Fees before you apply.
If you receive a grant from the Commonwealth Government, you are not eligible for a loan.
