John F Slowey Memorial Bursary

Established in 1995 to commemorate the life of Monsignor John F Slowey, whose leadership and vision contributed to the survival and development of Catholic education in New South Wales.


One bursary valued at $2,500 is available each year, paid in one lump sum.


This bursary is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Studying at the Strathfield campus.

Required Documentation

The following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • A written statement of approximately 100 words outlining how the Bursary could financially support the applicant's intended program of study
  • Evidence of the applicant's financial need.

Selection Criteria

Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:

  • Written statement
  • Financial need.

Selection Process

The recipient will be selected by the Scholarships Office.

Ongoing Requirements

Recipients are requested to submit a letter of appreciation for the donor explaining how the Bursary has assisted them. The letter should be submitted to the Scholarships Office no later than 1 October of each year.
