Weemala
Weemala, located on the ground floor of Building G (next to Student Services), provides social, cultural, personal and academic support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people undertaking a range of courses. Specific courses for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students include the Diplomas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education and Business Administration. Details of these courses are available at Weemala.
Weemala staff also work with other staff in the University to provide Indigenous perspectives into courses at ACU National through teaching, guest lectures, advice and research. Weemala staff and students contribute to Campus life by their participation in social activities, campus liturgies, multicultural festivals, Indigenous Week celebrations and cross-cultural awareness workshops.
By encouraging visitors to Weemala, the Weemala staff aim to foster an understanding of historical and contemporary issues for Indigenous people, and an appreciation of the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
