Postgraduate Support

Indigenous Research and Postgraduate Support (IRPS) staff coordinate replies to all postgraduate course enquiries from Indigenous students and is first point of contact for this purpose.

IRPS:

  • Coordinates Indigenous research
  • Assists in identifying research priorities and applying for grants
  • Develops and reviews guidelines for Indigenous research
  • Coordinates and monitoring support strategies including the mentor scheme
  • Assists potential and current students to apply for scholarships
  • Promotes links with Indigenous communities and organisations at a state, national, and international level
  • Responds to community and organisational needs which have been identified through these links
  • Develops a protocol for addressing these needs through ACU National-wide strategies and initiatives

One major support strategy is the mentor scheme. This scheme assists students from the initial enquiry through to graduation, if needed, and is negotiated between the student and the mentor. Further information and forms are available:
