Staff eLearning tutorial
Staff are invited to undertake an online tutorial to develop their knowledge and skills in online teaching. The Staff eLearning tutorial, is available after logging into Blackboard. To enter the staff eLearning tutorial, simply locate and click on Training Unit - Staff eLearning tutorial on your My Blackboard page.
The tutorial contains five modules:
- Quick Module for staff who need to get online quickly. This module is a minimum requirement for those teaching web-enhanced units.
- Learning to use Blackboard this module teaches you how to use all the common tools in Blackboard. You can choose to learn about only the tools you need.
- Teaching Online Part 1 Staff teaching fully online units should work though this module before their first teaching semester. Those teaching web-enhanced units may also wish to do this module to explore ways to enhance their online units. The module covers topics such as the needs of online learners, designing learning activities and dealing with common problems.
- Assessment This module covers the fundamentals of assessment and some specific issues to do with online assessment.
- Teaching Online Part 2 Staff teaching fully online units should work though this module after their first teaching semester, and before they teach online again. This module asks you to reflect on your teaching experience and continue to develop your skills and knowledge.
- ToolKit Staff can access a copy of all instructions from every module great to take away and read over a coffee!
