Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Technology) 1997 - 2007 Reunion
On Wednesday 16 November 2008, a reunion was held for graduates of the Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Technology) degree from 1997 - 2007.
An exhibition of current Technology students’ work was displayed throughout the Edward Clancy building on the Strathfield campus, where the evening gathering was held. As graduates shared stories of their teaching careers following their time at the University, it was discovered that many are now Head Teachers of Technology, and an individual is a Deputy Principal in The Kimberleys.
The Graduates proposed that their future reunions will be annual, including an opportunity for professional development. By inviting a keynote speaker for future events, this will contribute to graduate development as Technology teachers, Head teachers and leaders in their schools. Many of the graduates are New Scheme Teachers who appreciate the support they will receive through the first five years of their careers.
Reunion organiser, Louise Duvernet (Lecturer of Technology, School of Arts and Sciences) said,
“As I left campus I noticed that many of the graduates were still standing in the street catching up on the years apart. They were all looking forward to the next reunion in 2009. Friends Forever”.
