Exceptions Trancript

Units in Fallthrough may be applied in the students' Audit through the use of Exceptions.

Click on the Exceptions tab, and then chose the Exception Type you wish to apply.

If you are unsure of the Exception type you wish to apply, click on the Help link at the top of the page for more details.

We will use "Substitute".

Chose Substitute from the dropdown list, click Load.

This will bring up a ‘Replace with’ rule.

The subject and number need to be completed manually. This is the unit you wish to replace.

Chose a unit from the list of units that have not been completed and enter the unit code and number in the subject and number fields.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the screen.

In Fallthrough units, click on the unit code for the unit you wish to use as a replacement. This will automatically complete the ‘with’ fields.

Click in the description field and complete a description of why this Exception is being applied.

Click on "Add Exception".

You should receive a message saying – The Exception has been applied successfully.

You should click on "Run new Audit", this will give you an amended version of the student's Audit.

At the bottom of the page you will see an Exceptions bar which will give you the type of Exception that was applied and who applied the Exception.

Click on the "Worksheet" tab.

Here you will see that the Exception has been applied to the student’s Audit.

The details of the Exception should be shown in the Audit section as well as at the bottom of the screen.

This should have also amended the "Degree Progress" bar to reflect the completion of that unit.
