On Thursday 23 September, Australian Catholic University’s (ACU) North Sydney Campus was alive with the sounds and colours of Spain. The celebration, entitled ‘VIVA’, was designed to promote the upcoming ACU pilgrimage to World Youth Day in August 2011.

WYD 2011 will be held in Madrid, Spain, and the University has organised a roaming trip that covers Spain, Poland, Italy and Portugal.

The campus was privileged to host some superb musicians and a flamenco dancer from Flamenco Australia. Entertainment was also provided by Richard Faulkner from Campus Operations and a student who played classical guitar.

The event was organised by the Directorate of Identity and Mission, the North Sydney World Youth Day Ambassador Jacqui Tapon and Carmel Shepherd from Campus Ministry.

To the delight of North Sydney students and staff, the campus canteen sourced and provided Spanish food for the day which added to the festive mood of the occasion.
