Scholarship and awards at Brisbane

Australian Catholic University’s (ACU) Brisbane Campus recently held the 2010 Scholarship and Awards Ceremony to congratulate the recipients and acknowledge the generosity of the donors.

National Postgraduate Student President Brent Downes offered his sincere gratitude to the donors who made these awards possible.

“Your generosity towards Australian Catholic University and its students shows an affirming spirit of faithfulness in the high quality of education at this institution, and in the high calibre of ACU students,” he said.

“The road of a student in these modern times is difficult, so to receive a scholarship to help lighten the burden of financial responsibility is an enormous gesture of support.”

The scholarships and awards are given to students for varying reasons, from rural disadvantages and social justice involvement, to academic achievement and practical placement support.

A total of 18 scholarships, awards and bursaries were announced at the ceremony.
