The Arts at Brisbane Campus

The 2009 Young Voices Festival, facilitated by Judy Fromyhr from the School of Arts and Sciences, was held on the Brisbane Campus recently.

The 9th Annual Young Voices Festival highlighted Brisbane's young singing and composing talents, with performances by the Queensland Youth Choir- Poco Voci, the Young Conservatorium Melodic Minors, Brisbane Birralee Piccolos and special guest choir, Kidz2kidz.

Special guest Heidi Chan, aged 12, demonstrated her talent and mesmerised the audience with a violin solo of her own composition, 'Serene'

The Brisbane Campus is currently hosting a Visionaries Exhibition, Crux, which is comprised of artworks exploring the various meanings of the cross and how it can be interpreted in contemporary society.

Curated by Geraldine Wheeler, the exhibition was officially opened at an event in early September, with guests entertained by the ACU Choir.

The exhibition of paintings, drawings, prints, wood sculptures and photographs, will be on display until 2 October in the Peter W Sheehan Gallery.
