What is authentic learning and assessment?

Academic staff are invited to attend a presentation about the tenets of authentic learning and authentic assessment by Professor Kevin Ashford Rowe, Director of Learning and Teaching Centre, on Tuesday January 24 from 11am to12:30pm (NSW, Vic and ACT, 10am to 11:30am QLD).
How well do the teaching and learning strategies (including assessment design) you employ prepare students for the ‘real world’ complexities of their profession? Are the learning experiences of students undertaking your unit authentic?
Professor Kevin Ashford Rowe, Director of Learning and Teaching Centre, presents the merit of authentic learning and authentic assessment in a video conference presentation at 11am (AEST) on Tuesday January 24.
Following the presentation, there will be opportunities for attendees to discuss the application of authentic learning (including the design of authentic assessment) as they prepare for the upcoming semester.
