Updated Extended Unit Outline Template and Academic Integrity Resources
Published: Tuesday 15th May 2018
The Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC) wishes to advise that the Extended Unit Outline template has been updated to reflect recent changes to the policies and procedures on academic honesty.
The section in the Extended Unit Outline (EUO) template on ACU policies and regulations now refers to the ‘Academic Integrity and Misconduct Policy’ and the ‘Academic Misconduct Procedures’. It now states:
Academic integrity You have the responsibility to submit only work which is your own, or which properly acknowledges the thoughts, ideas, findings and/or work of others. The Academic Integrity and Misconduct Policy and the Academic Misconduct Procedures are available from the website. Please read them, and note in particular that cheating, plagiarism, collusion, recycling of assignments and misrepresentation are not acceptable. Penalties for academic misconduct can vary in severity and can include being excluded from the course.
From Semester 2 2018 on, please use this text from the revised EUO template to update or develop all unit outlines, including those uploaded in LEO and communicated through other means to students.
In the event your Faculty has added some sections (such as requirements for course completion) to the EUO template for circulation within your Faculty, that customized template will also need to reflect these updates. Please contact your Faculty office for specific Faculty EUO templates.
Additionally, LTC would like to draw your attention to resources aimed at supporting Faculty staff in applying the revised 'Academic Integrity and Misconduct – Policy' and the 'Academic Misconduct Procedures:
