Short Film Screening - Work Mate on 2 December‘When an introverted office worker is invited to go cycling by a new colleague who has a vision impairment, he tries desperately to find a way out of it...’
Find out what happens next! Attend a screening for staff of Work Mate, a thought-provoking and entertaining short film, which explores how misunderstandings or fears about disability can limit our opportunities and experiences in life.
The screening will be held at 12 midday ADST on 2 December to mark International Day of People with a Disability. The film runs for 20 minutes, and will be followed by a discussion to explore the key themes.
Over one billion people or approximately 15 per cent of the world’s population live with some form of disability and face physical, social, economic and attitudinal barriers that exclude them from participating fully and effectively in the community.
The ACU community supports staff and students with disabilities to overcome challenges and reach their potential, which aligns with the mission and values of the University. We celebrate and are inspired by those who strive to achieve despite barriers.
