Australian Catholic University is committed to fostering and empowering young people to engage in the Visual Arts through The Pixel Prize. Since 2009, our photography competition has been providing Years 7 to 12 students with an opportunity to:·
- develop their passion for photography by addressing a topical theme;
- have their work selected to be displayed in a public gallery;·
- attend an exhibition opening and prize giving night with industry professionals and meet with young budding photographers;·
Participants win prizes for: best representation of the theme; best image composition; most original photograph; and digital darkroom (image editing techniques);·
Tour ACU’s visual arts facilities and see the Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design Graduate Show in the ACU Gallery. This year the theme is ‘Freedom’ and the 2015 Pixel Prize encourages students to use their creativity to express what Freedom means to them.
Celebrating diversity and recognizing student achievement, the Pixel Prize Opening Night promises to be an enjoyable evening for all.
The exhibition opening and the awarding of prizes will take place on Thursday 12 November at 6.00pm at the Graham Street Gallery, ACU Melbourne Campus, 3 Graham Street, Fitzroy.
The Exhibition will then run until Friday 20 November with opening hours Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm.
Please send your RSVP by 2 November to firstname.lastname@example.org
