Lecture Capture Enhancement – North Sydney pop-up room open for bookings

Published: Thursday 11th August 2016

Teaching staff at ACU’s North Sydney Campus have the opportunity to trial the new, enhanced lecture capture technology, Echo360 Active Learning Platform (ALP) for Semester 2 2016.

A specialised pop-up teaching space has been set up for staff to run tutorials using the improved platform which includes a range of features that further enrich the student learning experience.

Today’s students face increased demands on their time and require the flexibility to access their learning materials at all times. Feedback from students also indicates that this is essential to their learning. Echo360 APL not only provides more user-friendly lecture capture but also has in-built pre-lecture, in-lecture and post-lecture student engagement tools and analytics capability.

Features of the improved platform include the capacity to upload media slides, add video to presentations, and real-time polling capabilities, amongst others. Importantly, its storage is cloud-based which allows for unlimited recordings and fewer concerns about storage and bandwidth.

The learning analytics capability in Echo360 ALP enables academics to monitor student engagement with lectures through the capacity to track how often a video or presentation has been viewed, attendance at lectures and participation in activities.

The Learning and Teaching Centre invite all lecturers at the North Sydney Campus to register for an Echo360 ALP trial with their students during Semester 2 2016.
