A project is currently underway to assess the benefits of replacing the existing class allocation system, Tutorial Direct, with Student Allocator. A pilot will be conducted on the Brisbane Campus in Semester 2, 2018.
The key reasons for considering a new allocations system are:
High levels of student dissatisfaction with the existing system
Improved functionality and fuller integration with the timetable software.
Expected benefits for students
Single Sign On
Personalised timetables for all study periods (not just Semester 1 and 2)
Activities can be grouped into streams
Expected benefits for staff
Improved student experience should lead to fewer queries to Ask ACU, LiCs and other staff
Classes that are buffered out or reserved can be hidden, so it's less confusing and frustrating for students
Improved reporting and retention of allocation records will allow you to build future timetables to accommodate student demand more effectively.
Brisbane staff information session
All Brisbane staff are invited to attend an information session about the project, and hear more about the expected benefits, at 10am-11am, Monday 23 April, St Therese of Lisieux Building
If you are unable to attend in person, please let us know, and we will forward videoconferencing details. This session will be recorded, and will be available online via Echo 360.
