The ACU Faculty of Theology and Philosophy is delighted to be hosting a visit in July by the internationally-renowned, global authority on comparative theology, Professor Francis X Clooney SJ from Harvard University.
The Faculty is hosting a number of events across our campuses, and invites all ACU staff to take the opportunity to attend a nearby event.
ACU Luminaries Series: Inter-religious Learning in the Papacy of Francis
Date: Thursday 27 July 2017
Time: 6pm for 6.30pm
Location: The Gleeson Auditorium, ACU Strathfield Campus
Registration: By Monday 24 July, via the website.
As part of the Faculty’s ACU Luminaries Series, Professor Clooney will deliver a much anticipated public lecture at the ACU Strathfield Campus. In this lecture, Professor Clooney will explore inter-religious learning – how different faith perspectives can engage and learn from each other while remaining faithful to their own beliefs and practices.
Within an increasingly fractured and divided world, an ability to learn about our own faith through relationships with others is a key focus of Pope Francis’ vision of integral human development. Professor Clooney will consider the question of how we might understand ourselves, and engage with our own faith traditions and perspectives, through learning from and in solidarity with others.
