Attention staff undertaking the 2017 RPRP. Librarians are available to assist you in analysing the impact of your publications, both within academia and in the broader community.
Assembling such evidence may strengthen your statement of research quality. Library support is offered in the following ways:
Access to tools that provide basic impact measurement and benchmarking functionality, including (but not limited to) Scopus, Web of Science, SciVal, Incites, SciMago and Journal Citation Reports.
Access to Altmetric Explorer for Institutions database to provide an indication of attention, and therefore impact, outside of academia.
Training in the use of the above tools so you can calculate a variety of metric and Altmetric indicators.
Provision of a Research Impact Report, containing an analysis of your research publications metrics. Whilst the Library does not write the statement of research quality for your RPRP, it will provide evidence to inform and verify the your statement. The report provided includes a spreadsheet containing the publication data, screenshots, and short statements used to inform your written report.
Types of impact measurement available includes:
Author/Research group impact
Broad societal impact
Your librarian will discuss the scope of the report and the time needed for completion with you during an initial consultation. If you would like to access any of the services mentioned above, please contact your Librarian.
