Three Minute Thesis competition

Published: Wednesday 17th August 2016

What can you do in three minutes? Boil an egg? Make a cup of tea? Explain an 80,000 word thesis?

The Three Minute Thesis competition is an annual event for doctoral research candidates. With just one powerpoint slide and three minutes on the clock, they must explain their thesis to a lay audience.

The heats for this year’s competition have already taken place and the top performing participants will spend the next few weeks honing their skills in a bid to win great prizes at the ACU Final, as well as representational honours at the 2016 Asia-Pacific Competition in October.

The ACU Final will take place on Wednesday 7 September in Tenison Woods House, North Sydney (Level 22). Lunch will be provided for the finalists and members of the audience at noon, and the finalists will present at 1pm. The announcement of the prize winners will take place at approximately 2pm and will be followed by refreshments.

We invite you to attend this high profile event. For catering purposes, please RSVP to res.cand@acu.edu.au by Friday 2 September.
