Published: Thursday 29th March 2018
Submit your proposal for a paper, nuts and bolts session or round-table discussion for the upcoming 2018 ACU Learning and Teaching Conference at North Sydney Campus.
The conference, on Friday 27 July, is titled ‘Exploring Excellence in Learning and Teaching at ACU’, and provides academics with the opportunity to come together and explore new ways to enrich the student experience and learn about new technologies. The conference is a significant event on the academic calendar as it brings together academics from all faculties in one location. This year the conference will be held at the James Carroll Building on the ACU North Sydney Campus.
The purpose of the conference is to:
Promote and celebrate excellence in learning and teaching
Showcase ways in which technology enhanced learning can enrich student learning experiences and outcomes
Explore and demonstrate ways to further enhance and enrich our curricula and practices
Engage with students and academics on learning and teaching issues
Demonstrate ways in which ACU has promoted the participation and success of students from low socioeconomic groups.
For 2018 the keynote speaker will be Associate Professor Jason Lodge, University of Queensland. Associate Professor Lodge has a long-standing interest in learning and teaching, the science of learning, and the use of technology to enhance learning.
We are aiming for up to 320 delegates from across ACU to attend the conference and are targeting a good cross-section from all faculties/schools, campuses and career stages, including early career and sessional staff.
Presentation types that will be delivered include: papers, nuts and bolts sessions and round-table discussions. Dr Duncan Nulty is the academic lead and will be coordinating the program. For further information please see the conference website.
