WHS incident, injury and hazard reporting goes online

Published: Friday 10th June 2016

As staff will be aware, the SafeZone App, which provides emergency or critical incident information, is currently being rolled out across all ACU campuses.

In addition, ACU’s new riskware online portal for logging reports of incidents, injuries and hazards was launched last week to all staff as part of the continued drive to improve emergency and Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) systems.

The portal replaces the existing paper-based ACU Incident and Injury Form and will improve the coordination and transparency of safety issue management across the University.

Through completing an easy-to-use riskware report online, all ACU staff members are able to log reports of incidents, injuries and hazards (something that could potentially cause harm) and contribute to keeping our campuses safe.

How to access riskware

You can access riskware through the HR website, using your ACU network User ID and password.  Quick reference user guides are available for guidance on how to log a report.

The riskware portal will also be made available to all ACU students in the near future.

What happens when you log a report

When a report is logged, riskware sends an email notification to the relevant University officer, normally a nominated supervisor, and prompts them to apply corrective actions. riskware assists users to develop action plans to resolve hazards or to take the necessary actions in response to incidents or injuries.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility All ACU staff members have a role to play in encouraging other staff members to log reports , if they are impacted by incidents, as the reports will be reviewed and actions may be applied to reduce the potential risk of harm.
