A leading writer and speaker on contemporary spirituality is visiting North Sydney soon. Father Ronald Rolheiser, O.M.I., is an Oblate priest, theologian and popular spirituality writer. He is president of the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas.
He is a community-builder, lecturer, and writer. His books are popular throughout the English-speaking world and have now been translated into many languages. His weekly column is carried by more than 80 newspapers worldwide.
Prior to this present position, he taught theology and philosophy at Newman Theological College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for 16 years, served as Provincial Superior of his Oblate Province for six years, and served on the General Council for the Oblates in Rome for six years. He has been at Oblate School of Theology since 2005.
His latest book, Sacred Fire: A Vision for a Deeper Human and Christian Maturity, won Book of the Year and Best Book in Spirituality, Catholic Book awards 2015.
Fr Ron is a popular speaker in the areas of contemporary spirituality and religion and the secular world.
On Saturday July 2, he will give two sessions at the Ron Dyer Centre, 42 Ridge Street, North Sydney (alongside Church). Doors open 9am. First session 10.10am. Lunch 11.45am. Second Session 12.30pm. Q&A after each session. Concludes at 2.00 PM.
