Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Community Engagement

Nominations are now open for the 2014 Awards for Outstanding Community Engagement in the categories of:

  • 2014 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Community Engagement - award recognising ACU’s work with an external partner(s);
  • 2014 Staff Award for Outstanding Community Engagement - award recognising an ACU staff member or staff team; and
  • 2014 Student Award for Outstanding Community Engagement -award recognising an ACU student or student team

Dear Colleagues,

Community engagement is the process through which Australian Catholic University brings the capabilities of its staff and students to work collaboratively with community groups and organisations to achieve mutually agreed goals that build capacity, improve wellbeing, and produce just and sustainable outcomes in the interests of people, communities and the University.

The University sees community engagement as:

  • advancing its Catholic identity and mission in serving the common good and enhancing the dignity and wellbeing of people and communities especially those who are most marginalised or disadvantaged;
  • integral to its teaching, learning and research; and
  • depending on trusted relationships and genuine partnerships with community organisations, institutions and corporations.

Nominations are now iopen for the following 2014 Awards for Outstanding Community Engagement:

2014 Staff Award for Outstanding Community Engagement - award recognising an ACU staff member or staff team

All staff involved in significant University community engagement projects are eligible to nominate for the award. The staff recipient will be presented with the 2014 Staff Award for Outstanding Community Engagement including $5,000 for an approved community engagement-related project. 2014 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Community Engagement - award recognising ACU’s work with an external partner(s)

All significant University community engagement projects are eligible to be nominated for the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Community Engagement. The staff recipient and the external partners will be presented with the 2014 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Community Engagement. 2014 Student Award for Outstanding Community Engagement - award recognising an ACU student or student team

All students involved in significant community engagement projects are eligible to be nominated for the Student Award for Outstanding Community Engagement. All students enrolled during the calendar year are eligible to nominate for the award. Applications from a student team will also be considered for this award. The University reserves the right not to make an award in any given year.
