Women and Super Bridging the Gap

Research shows that women face unique challenges when it comes to retirement savings.  They tend to have less super than men for many different reasons, including career breaks and time out of the workforce to raise families, making it more difficult to build a reasonable amount of super. This session is suitable for women of all ages who would like to develop a better understanding of financial matters and be more active in managing their retirement savings.

The seminar will cover issues such as:

  • Understanding the retirement gap and the factors that contribute to it
  • Easy and free steps to close the gap
  • Ways to boost your super, including taking advantage of government incentives
  • Examples of how we’ve helped members close the gap

Date: Thursday 25 June 2015
Location: C2.01, Level 2, Clancy Building, 25A Barker Road, Strathfield

Transition to Retirement

The ‘transition to retirement’ (TTR) options is a government initiative which recognizes that members may want to decrease their working hours over time towards the end of their career.  It allows members to access their super benefits as an income stream prior to retirement.  Some members use it as an opportunity to boost their super benefits overall or just ease into retirement.

This session is suitable for members who are approaching, or are over age 55 and would like an overview of:

  • The potential benefits of a TTR strategy
  • Converting super to an income stream
  • Taxation implications
  • Incorporating salary sacrifice to boost super benefits, and
  • Aspects to consider when determining if this strategy is appropriate for you.
