Thinking about teaching the Core Curriculum in 2016?

Published: Wednesday 23rd September 2015

Staff are invited to consider the submission of an Expression of Interest to teach in the Core Curriculum in 2016. The information at the attached link is provided to help you to decide whether you wish to proceed.

What are some of the benefits of teaching in the Core Curriculum?

  • Collegiality.  Staff teaching in the Core frequently speak very highly of the supportive relationships they form with other staff members and the great sense they have of belonging to a team.
  • Professional learning.  Develop and extend expertise in activity-based learning, use of Adobe Connect Classroom, LEO, Turnitin assessment tools, learning design, transformative learning, Catholic Social Thought, moderation processes, assessment equivalence….
  • Help to make meaning with students.  The Core units deal with big questions and real issues.
  • Contribute to the big picture of the University.
