Australian Catholic University (ACU) has had the privilege of supporting a talented and highly motivated group of Year 11 accounting students from St Kevin’s College in Melbourne who participated in an accelerated Accounting program with the Peter Faber School of Business.
A total of eight gifted St Kevin’s College Year 11 Accounting students with the support of their teacher Peter Mitchell nominated to complete a first year university unit of Accounting titled “Introduction to Accounting” during semester 1, 2017.
Maxine Bradshaw, Business Development Manager for the Faculty of Law and Business, who coordinates the partnership with the college explained that: “The St Kevin’s cohort of students study the identical ACU first year accounting course alongside ACU students and they complete the same assessment tasks including an examination which is graded by Dr Pandula Gamage ACU Senior Lecturer in Accounting”.
Sam Cato, Vincentius Susilo, Henry Renehan and Adam Taylor who are very proud of their outstanding ACU Accounting results.
Dr Gamage stated that “the standard of work from these students was exceptional demonstrating a very comprehensive understanding of accounting principles”. Furthermore, Dr Gamage added “the boys are to be commended on their outstanding results with five students attaining a High Distinction whilst the remaining three attained a Distinction”.
