Staff volunteers wanted for OT students practicing computer workstation assessments

Published: Monday 7th March 2016

Volunteers are needed to participate in assessment of their computer-based workstation with Occupational Therapy students from ACU.

The aim is to provide opportunity for students, to practice their WHS and ergonomic assessment skills as part of their OTHY202 subject.

Occupational Therapy students enrolled in a Unit OTHY202: Ergonomics and Occupational Health and Safety in Semester 1 2016 are required to conduct a Computer Workstation Assessment to develop knowledge and skills in assessment and  application of  ergonomic principles in office ergonomics.

Your participation will allow students to conduct an ergonomic assessment at your computer workstation. The computer workstation assessment will involve students in groups of 2-3 contacting you to arrange a time for the computer workstation assessment.

They are required to conduct an assessment that should take up to 1 hour, arranged at a mutually convenient time between the 4 April and 15 April 2015.

Students will visit you to gain an overview of your duties and analyse the computer workstation and the work tasks performed by you and evaluate Occupational Health and Safety risk.

Observations and any documentation undertaken by students will remain confidential and only de-identified data will be used for learning and assessment purposes.

Please contact to volunteer or for ask for more information.
