ACU Brisbane staff and their family and friends are invited and encouraged to join the ACU Brisbane Community Choir.
Staff and students have known the health benefits of choirs for a number of years, and have actively participated in the choir on campus.
Singing in choirs is linked to reduction in depression and stress levels, as well as supporting the creation of positive social bonds, and boosting endorphin levels.
As choirs have changed and grown, there has been a need to restructure the Brisbane choirs for 2017 with the Brisbane Campus now becoming home to a thriving ACU Brisbane Student Choir and an ACU Brisbane Community Choir.
We already have some staff who joyfully participate in singing in the choir on the Brisbane Campus. However, in 2017 we would like to expand this number and encourage more ACU Brisbane staff, as well as their family, friends and community to enjoy singing with the ACU Brisbane Community Choir.
Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm in the Brisbane Campus Chapel, and the Choir Director is Mr Tim Sherlock, an exceptional choir conductor and director.
If you would like further information about the ACU Brisbane Community Choir please contact Leadership and Culture Coordinator, Cate Gilpin at choirs@acu.edu.au.
