Last year ACU launched our first staff giving program, which allows all staff to support the Creating Opportunity Fund as well as our international outreach programs in East Timor and the Thai-Burma border.
To ensure the program meets the needs and expectations of ACU staff, ACU Advancement recently held a survey to gather staff insights and opinions.
The survey closed on 11 October and we have received overwhelming responses from our staff. Some 358 staff who completed and submitted the survey.
We were very proud to see new staff donors coming on board during the survey. Please accept our sincerest gratitude for your generous support.
The survey has provided a very rich source of feedback on the Staff Giving Program.
Overall, staff are passionate in supporting the program. Half of survey participants thought it very motivating that the University will match every donation made by staff.
Staff have voted on the causes that resonate with them most and the top three are the Creating Opportunity Fund, Refugees on the Thai-Burma Border and Future in Youth programs.
A range of events, activities and communications will be launched next year to extend and enhance the program, in direct response to participants’ feedback that they would feel more encouraged to donate if they were provided with more information on where and how their donation will be spent (32.8%), received program updates on the difference their donation is making (26.7%), could tap into a wider choice of causes (18%) and was given an easier giving process (16.4%).
We have also received many interesting naming ideas from 112 respondents, and 41 staff have volunteered to assist with the program as a Staff Giving Champions.
Congratulations to Jacqui Young, Peter Freeman, Katherine Howard, Maureen Hemmings, and Nerolie Stickland, who have won ACU Swivel bamboo USBs.
